I
haven’t written in a while, and I’m mad, so here it goes:
Fuck you, Gary Walters. You know why Penn got
a fucking 14-seed? Maybe I should explain: your incompetence. Focus less on choosing the field and more on the fucking team
that operates under your pointy fucking nose. Maybe if you guys stepped it up from that “sweet” 2-12 mark in Ivy
League play.
Your incompetence also happens to extend to your
choice of teams to bring in.
You didn’t let Syracuse
in the tournament. Let’s go over the resume: 10 wins in the Big East, beat Georgetown,
beat Nova, beat Marquette ON THE FUCKING ROAD and beat 2 other tourney teams (Penn and Holy Cross). There are a few bad losses,
but they were in the Big East.
Let’s look at some
of your teams that you decided to allow into the tournament.
1.) Illinois (12 seed West Region)
9-7 in the Big Ten? “Sweet.” What
strong wins do they have? Three. All in conference against Michigan State and Indiana twice. They played more cupcakes than Joe Willet during lunch. Give me a break. They shouldn’t
be in. Call me when they beat 2 ranked teams in a calendar year.
2.) Kentucky (8 seed West Region)
Why don’t we just roll out the red carpet
for Tubby Smith? The Wildcats beat Tennessee and Louisville…3
MONTHS AGO. In their last nine: 3-6. Really on a roll. Does the NCAA really want Tubby Smith to keep his job that badly? He
already lost his recruiting touch 2 years ago, with Joe Crawford wanting to transfer because he hated playing for Tubby, and
Tubby forcing him to stay and brainwashing him. Great.
3.) Arkansas (12 seed East Region)
They really played themselves into the NCAA Tournament
with an SEC Tournament run of beating: South Carolina, a now-unranked Vanderbilt (after the
Razorbacks beat them the week before), and Mississippi State? Seriously? Their only other signature win? Southern Illinois,
WHEN THEY SUCKED.
4.) Old Dominion (12 seed Midwest Region)
So you beat Georgetown
in Washington. Great. YOU ALSO LOST IN THE CAA SEMIFINAL!
If you had advanced to the final, I would have been fine with this choice. But, can I have a word with you, Coach Taylor?
IT’S THE FUCKING CAA! IF YOU CAN’T GET TO THE FINAL OF THE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT, YOU SHOULDN’T BE IN THE
NCAA TOURNAMENT!
5.) Purdue (9 seed Midwest Region)
The Boilermakers beat Virginia and Indiana…and
that’s about it.
6.) Boston College
(7 seed East Region)
They beat VaTech,
Maryland, and Michigan State, all at home. You know what else they did at home? They lost to Vermont and Duquesne. Give me a fucking break if you’re going to tell me that’s
strong
Is there any worthiness to play in the Tournament
here? Yes. But let me tell you, Gary Walters, Jim Boeheim is about to talk about you like how he used to talk about Big East
Assistant Coaches, and now an anonymous assistant coaches poll will be replaced by this year’s bracket as “the
most bullshit thing I’ve ever seen.” Syracuse
would wipe the floor with all of these teams, and for that reason they shouldn’t be in the tournament.
Also, sweet job by Gary Walters in being the
ACC’s bitch. They say they deserve 9 teams in the tournament, so 7 teams and not letting anyone else get more than 6
is the way to satisfy them. BC did not deserve to get in by any means, and that other team should be for the true power conference,
the Big East, who once again deserved to get more of the 16 team league that is by far the best in the country into this tournament.
And Marquette
as an 8 seed? Are you serious? First off, they’re from the Big East. Second, they swept Pitt in the regular season.
Third, they murdered Duke at the beginning of the year AT A NEUTRAL SITE. Fourth, they beat Texas Tech, who SWEPT Texas A&M.
Fifth, THEY’RE STILL RANKED IN THE TOP 25! There is no justification in the 8 seed. A victory leaves them in front of
North Carolina in the 2nd round. Ranked teams
shouldn’t be playing in the 2nd round if one is a 1 seed. Terrible job, Gary.
I thought Princeton was about facts, but it looks like they’re going against the numbers
a la Bush denying that global warming is real. What a joke of a school and an athletic department.
I almost neglected to mention: A big fuck you
also goes out to Wichita State who went from being #8 in the country to not even being worthy of an NIT bid with their mid-season
meltdown, which was followed by a late-season meltdown. In their last 22 games, the Shockers went 8-14 and sealed Syracuse with that bad loss to a team that would be peak at #8 in the
country before the collapse. Thanks a lot for the bad loss along with the absolutely terrible sexual method suggested for
divvying up fingers for the pink and the stink. Real nice job to end the year.
